WHO
Selden Home has been lighting British homes since 2013. It started with one problem: a rented flat where every room had the same flat ceiling light, and nothing on the high street fixed it properly.
WHY
Lighting is the cheapest change you can make to a room, and the one everyone skips. Showrooms want £600 for a pendant; the DIY aisle sells the same three shades to everyone. We built Selden for the gap between them.
HOW
Thirteen years on, we still keep the range under 40 pieces and cut anything that stops earning its place. Each light is chosen for how it behaves at night — glare, colour temperature, the size of the pool it throws — not how it photographs. Most come in several sizes and warmths, some cordless.
WHO IT'S FOR
For people doing up a UK home who care how a room feels after dark and would rather buy one right light than three near-misses.
